From Hanamkonda to Bollywood: The Unstoppable Journey of Racha Ravi



Warangal, Telangana Just a stone’s throw away from the majestic Thousand Pillar Temple in Hanamkonda, a boy was born who would one day become a household name in Telugu entertainment. That boy was Racha Ravi a mimicry artist, comedian, actor, and now, a symbol of hard-earned success.
Ravi's journey began in humble surroundings. Even as a child, he was known for imitating voices and entertaining people in local stage shows. His talent didn’t go unnoticed he got his first big break on Gemini TV’s “Once More Please”, a show that gave him visibility and opened doors to the world of entertainment.

 
But like most dreams, his didn’t come easy.

As he wandered the streets of Hyderabad looking for acting opportunities, his father stood by him not with pressure to quit, but with encouragement. He brought Ravi into the Warangal Municipal Corporation, where Ravi even had the opportunity to work under renowned IAS officer Smita Sabharwal. It was a period that taught him discipline and grounded him, but the fire to perform never faded.

In pursuit of better prospects, Ravi moved to Dubai and worked as a Radio Jockey, but acting remained his true passion. He returned to India, more determined than ever.

In 2013, his moment finally arrived. Ravi joined Chammak Chandra’s team on Jabardasth’s FFB 10, where his bold Telangana slang, comic timing, and relatable punchlines won him instant fame. “Racha Ravi” was born—and audiences loved him.

From a team player to a team leader, Ravi’s journey in Jabardasth cemented his identity. But he wasn’t one to settle. He took a break from TV to focus on films, and his leap paid off.

 
His film debut in “1000 Abaddhalu” was just the beginning. Over the years, Ravi has acted in more than 140 films, including hits like:

Recently, Ravi took another giant leap stepping into Bollywood in a high-profile film directed by Gopichand Malineni, alongside superstar Sunny Deol. A proud moment not just for him, but for every small-town dreamer.
But behind the laughter and lights, there's also a heart of gold.

A dedicated environmentalist, Ravi has planted over 5,000 saplings across Telangana and adopted the state tree Prosopis cineraria. In 2020, he was appointed Swachh Warangal Brand Ambassador, a title he wears with pride and sincerity.
